About The Volunteer Manager

Welcome to the Volunteer Manager, a blog for all volunteers and volunteer Managers.  This blog is meant to be a place where you can come to discuss issues or voice opinions and even get some advice if you want any.

My name is Greg Colby, I am the Regional Volunteer Services Manager for UnitingCare Ageing- Hunter, Central Coast and New England. I’m not the expert in all things volunteering – but between all of us I reckon we can provide support and advice for one another that goes beyond what we could come up with by ourslves.

I have started up this blog because I figured it might be easier to have one site where you visited and discussed things rather than responding to a barrage of emails such as on email news groups.  (I’m not bagging out newsgroups -I’m a member of several myself!)

I hope you will poke around and enjoy your visit

    Greg,

I was wondering if you could post a blog regarding VolunteerHub. VolunteerHub is a great online tool for Volunteer Managers to use when coordinating their volunteers! Please take a look at our website at http://www.volunteerhub.com, and let me know what you think!

    Best regards,
    Christine Litch

    Greg,

I am glad I came across the blog. Have there been volunteer leaders from non-profit agencies who have connected with you? I ask because I work at a non-profit agency and we have volunteers that come to us as lead interns and I am wanting to know if it would be benefical to refer them to this blog.

I work in Los Angeles, but the agency I am refering to is nation wide.

    Gerald

    Greetings,
I am requesting to use your name and link in a book I have written, The Volunteer Book, which has been submitted to Beacon Hill Press of Kansas City for publication. The initial press run will be 4,000, and the length of the published work is expected to be approximately 192 pages. It will sell for $14.99 primarily in North America, with some limited sales elsewhere.

The main thrust of this book is how to start, grow, and then maintain a successful volunteer program and faith-based organization will be the focus.

I would like to use the following statement under the heading “Volunteer Blogs”:

http://volunteermanager.wordpress.com/ This blog is meant to be a place where you can come to discuss issues or voice opinions and even get some advice if you want any.

    Thanks you.

I am way out of date. But if this is the Greg Colby, member of my Support Circle at the first Australasian Retreat for Advanced Volunteer Management, in Canberra, 2005, then I send greetings and Congratulations on this blogsite, and ask Where Are You Now?
